It was banned in 2005, and once more in 2022.
In celebration of the “2023 MBC Leisure Awards,” comic Cho Hye Ryeon (also called Cho Hye Ryun or Cho Hye Lyun) carried out “Anacana.”
Bringing all of her fellow comedians on stage to bop the evening away, Cho placed on one of the energetic performances that Korean award ceremonies have seen!
Viewers fell in love with the vibe…
…and praised Cho for making the most effective out of the tune.

So… What even is “Anacana” about?
“Anacana” is part of the Anacana album that Cho launched in 2005, consisting of 11 “remake” tracks of Western pop songs from the Nineteen Sixties to Eighties.
“Anacana” is a mash-up of “Wished,” “Attractive Music,” and “Scorching Stuff.”
The phrases for “Anacana” make little sense, because the tune—and the whole album—was “English phrases became Korean as Cho heard them.”

And due to how “nonsensical” it’s, “Anacana” was formally banned from KBS for being “having inappropriate (vulgar) lyrics within the language of unclear origin.” In April of 2022, Cho revealed on KBS’s Stars’ Prime Recipe at Enjoyable-Staurant that she and this system tried interesting the ban—however the attraction bought turned down, so it stays banned for KBS.
Seems prefer it’s KBS’s loss, although, as a result of MBC had one heck of a time letting Cho carry out “Anacana.”
